21 Acres Summer Farm Camp: Grow a Pizza, July 7-11

MakeSunTea2Kids explore the farm-to-table process, through everyone’s favorite food -- pizza! Students learn about farm grown veggies and harvest them to make their own wood-fired pizza for the final celebration. Learn about a variety of farm tasks that help our food grow, while playing games, making friends and tasting fresh foods at the 21 Acres Farm. Discover that healthy plants need healthy soil and healthy kids need healthy food.

Ages 7–11 (entering grades 2-5 in fall 2014)

Monday-Friday, July 7-11, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Campers provide their own lunch. 

Cost:  $290 for individuals / $240 for 21 Acres or Seattle Tilth Members / $25 discount for each sibling or friend registered at the same time.

21 Acres Summer Farm Camp: Telling Farm Tales, July 14-18

PlantSurveyingKids spend five days learning practical farming skills while using stories to learn where food comes from. Explore the unique farm at 21 Acres, along with worms, plants, goats and bees. Students explore different storytelling traditions through by planting a Three Sisters Garden, a fascinating Native American planting technique with corn, beans and squash. The week will culminate with the creation of a meal with these special ingredients fresh from the farm. Fun and educational farm activities will be enhanced with oral and written stories.

Ages 7–11 (entering grades 2-5 in fall 2014)

Monday-Friday, July 14-18, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Campers provide their own lunch.

21 Acres Summer Farm Camp: Explore and Create, July 21-25

STFarmCampGet creative at the farm! Make art and design your own journal while having a great time harvesting, cooking and eating food you helped grow. Go on farm adventures while exploring creative spaces like the bean teepee and the Three Sisters Garden. Discover the magic of the worm bins and use all of senses to experience the beauty of the farm as you dig in the soil, plant seeds and harvest fresh tasty food, flowers and herbs. Students will create a special dish to celebrate the week with their new friends.
